Prometheus On His Crag

Can see Io fleeting across the map,
A rout of tribulation - a cry
Bucking the bee of the Creator.

And she can see him - a relief
Carved into summit granite,
Quarried by the Creator's offal-eater.

Is she his secret soul - or is he hers?
If she could rest, would his chains drop off him?
If he could burst his chains, could she rest?

It matters.

Just wondering where you found the Hughes poem--it's not in his 1973 collection "Prometheus on his crag"
